Ariel Ucapkan Terimakasih Kepada Luna Maya

Jakarta-C&R/OMG-Nazriel Irham atau kerap disapa Ariel hari ini, Kamis, 9 Agustus 2012, bersama rekan-rekannya yang tergabung dalam band Noah merilis sebuah buku bertajuk "Kisah Lainnya".

Dalam buku tersebut Ariel menyinggung perihal Luna Maya. Bahkan, Ariel sempat mengungkapkan rasa terimakasih karena dari Luna, ia bisa membuat lagu berjudul Dara.

"Lagu ini (Dara) terinspirasi ucapan Luna ketika kami berada dalam mobil Kejaksaan Negeri yang membawa saya ke Kebon Waru, 'Kenapa kita diperlakukan seperti ini ya?' tanya Luna sambil menitikkan air mata," tutur Ariel di Club 01 FX. Lifestyle X'nter Mall, Senayan, Jakarta Pusat.

Disinggung mengenai hubungannya dengan Luna saat ini, Ariel tak mau komentar. Namun begitu, Ariel tak menampik ada peran Luna dalam pembuatan buku tersebut. "Hmm, kalau soal itu, nggak komentar, ada waktunya nanti. Tapi setiap nama orang yang ada di buku, pasti menginspirasi. Itu saja," tuturnya.

Buku berjudul "Kisah Lainnya" ditulis oleh semua personel NOAH band sejak Ariel dipenjara. Namun, dalam buku tersebut lebih banyak bercerita perjalanan Ariel dari tahun 2010 hingga 2012. (Deva).

Hindari "Jeruk Makan Jeruk", Kasus Simulator SIM Harus Ditangani KPK

Jakarta Fraksi Partai Golkar DPR mendorong Polri menyerahkan penuntasan kasus simulator SIM kepada KPK. Hal ini penting untuk memastikan objektifitas penanganan kasus ini.

"Kalau ditanya siapa yang paling berhak dari kedua lembaga, sebaiknya Polri legowo dan mempersilakan KPK menangani kasus ini agar tidak menimbulkan kesan negatif. Sebab, bila Polri yang menangani kasus ini nanti kan terkesan jeruk makan jeruk," kata Sekretaris FPG DPR, Ade Komarudin, kepada wartawan di Gedung DPR, Senayan, Jakarta, Jumat (9/8/2012).

Menurut Ade, sekarang ini masyarakat menunggu pengusutan kasus ini hinga tuntas. Polri harus mendukung pengusutan kasus ini hingga tuntas.

"Sekarang ini, baik KPK dan Polri kan sudah bertemu dan masyarakat menunggu tindakan konkret dari kedua lembaga menuntaskan kasus itu. Sebaliknya Polri mempersilakan seluas-luasnya kepada KPK untuk menangani kasus itu," katanya.

Pandangan senada disampaikan Ketua FPG DPR Setya Novanto. Menurut Novanto, KPK dan Polri harus sama-sama legowo dan bekerjasama menyelesaikan masalah ini. "Prinsipnya, pemberantasan korupsi harus menjadi prioritas aparat penegak hukum," kata Novanto.

"Saya percaya tidak ada konflik antara kedua instansi dalam menyelesaikan masalah. Yang jelas, FPG mendorong agar kasus ini bisa diselesaikan secara elegan dan berkomitmen menuntaskan kasus ini secepatnya," tandas Novanto.

HOOK SETTING BASIC'S

To get a powerful set, keep the elbows tight to the body to move the rod, line and ultimately the hook.

Properly setting the hook is a skill all anglers should strive to master.  There are many rod movements anglers need to learn, like jigging or twitching, but when it's crunch-time you'll lose fish if you can't properly set the hook.  Part of getting good at hooksets is practice and time on the water, yet there are some fundamental elements needed for hooksets to be successful.

Proper Form

The proper form for setting the hook mirrors the often-described sports stance, so forgive me if the following echoes advice from a former little league coach. Before setting the hook, you should be in a stable position with your legs about shoulder-width apart and knees slightly bent. The reason for this stance is balance and stability. When setting the hook you often need to torque your upper body and aggressively snap the rod — if you're not stable at your base, you can knock yourself off balance or are not in the right stance to exert enough force. 

     

Your upper body should be relaxed, but ready to spring into hook-setting form at any moment. Perhaps one of the biggest mistakes novices make is not keeping their elbows tight to their sides. It may sound trivial, but if you keep your elbows out when you set the hook you lose a lot of power and leverage. The result is one moves their arms and elbows more than the rod, equating to a less powerful hookset. To get a powerful set, keep the elbows tight to the body to move the rod, line and ultimately the hook. 

The Set

Setting the hook is a relatively simple motion once you get the hang of it, and fairly universal; however, factors like fish species, timing, and bait presentations require you to customize the action and intensity of a set. Let's deal with the basics first. 

     

When a fish strikes snap the rod up, over your shoulder or off to one side (sometimes called a side set). If doing the latter, you can twist at the waist to increase the power of your hookset. Before setting the hook it is critical to reel in slack line and point the rod towards the fish before snapping it back. Without doing these two steps, you'll decrease the effectiveness of the set. As you reel the line in and move the rod towards the fish, you should feel the fish's weight.  Once the slack is gone and you can feel weight, keep your elbows in and quickly snap the rod up and over your shoulders using your forearms. 

     

Immediately following the set, keep steady pressure on the fish and drive the hooks home by cranking the reel a few turns. This is an important step when fishing in heavy vegetation or for toothy fish, as the rod snap is sometimes insufficient to bury the hook's barb through the fish's mouth and you'll need to crank the reel a few turns to finish the hook set.

     

How hard you set the hook and how fast will depend on the fish you're targeting and your presentation technique. Soft-mouthed fish (such as crappie) or light biting ones (such as certain trout) only need a steady, sweeping hookset, especially when using ultra-light gear, to ensure you don't pull the hook away from the fish. Conversely, you'll need a hard hook-set if fishing for hard-mouthed pike to ensure you bury the hooks into the fish's mouth. When hooksets need some extra-punch, try taking a half or a full step back. This gives you more leverage but also quickly retrieves slack line to give your sets more power.

Some Hook-setting Rules

Wait to feel the weight of the fish — perhaps one of the most common rules to setting the hook. This is particularly applicable to topwater fishing as the surface explosion startles many anglers into setting the hook before the fish has actually taken the bait. When a fish hits a topwater bait wait until you feel weight, then set the hook. 

     

Yet every rule has an exception and sometimes you won't feel the weight of a fish when it strikes. A good example is when fishing with jigs. Many fish hit jigs on the fall.  In this case, the best thing to do is watch the line on the surface for a tick or an early stop in the jig's fall.  If this happens, quickly reel in any slack line and set the hook once taught.

     

Remember, when fishing wait until you feel the weight of the fish before setting the hook.

Timing is everything — can be the biggest loophole when describing hooksets. When targeting aggressive fish that are hitting baits hard, a good rule of thumb is to set the hook fast. On the flipside, if fish are in a neutral or negative mood and hitting baits lightly, it's better to wait, let the fish take the bait, and set the hook after you feel the weight of the fish. 

     

This does not necessarily mean going easy on them. Walleye are notorious for being light biters and sometimes a subtle tick is the only indication you'll get that a fish had taken your bait. Respond to these light bites quickly, with a fast snap before marble eyes spits out your bait.

     

Get rid of slack line to ensure proper sets — I've already alluded to this, but it's a common mistake. It's critical to keep the line tight at all times. Taught line increases sensitivity and helps you feel strikes, as well as increases the power of your hooksets. Keeping a tight line ensures that when you move your rod, you'll be moving the hook too. A slack-line set doesn't move the hook with much, or any, force, but rather simply mends slack line. This is why it's crucial to reel in slack line before a set to ensure you really are burying the hooks home.

     

Don't wait if using livebait — A common culprit of gut-hooked fish are anglers who wait too long to set the hook when fishing with livebait. Unlike the unnatural taste of artificial lures (which fish will quickly spit out once they realize it's not edible), livebait is food that fish will swallow if given the time. Granted, neutral or negative mood fish will rarely take baits aggressively, but it's better to set the hook sooner and lose the odd fish or piece of bait, than wait too long and gut-hook a fish, limiting its chances of post-release survival.

Do I need to set the hook trolling? — The fishing jury is out on this question. If you are quickly trolling and have the reel's drag set tight, odds are the momentum of the boat will set the hook for you. Any additional sudden force on the fish may widen the hook-hole tear in the fish's mouth, increasing the chances of them throwing the hooks during the fight. If trolling slowly with a loose drag you will likely need to set the hook. In this case, it's a good habit to set the hook before stopping the motor to ensure the line stays taught.

     

These are just some of the basics of setting the hook when fishing. Ultimately, the species of fish, their mood, and your lure presentation will impact the intensity and force needed behind your hookset. Remember, when fishing wait until you feel the weight of the fish before setting the hook, but when in doubt set the hook otherwise you'll lose a lot of fish.

ROCK FISHING WARNING

With rock fishing season underway, Surf Life Saving Australia is urging anglers to wear a life jacket and appropriate footwear, and to heed dangerous surf conditions warnings. Families are also being asked to discuss safety with their loved ones before they go fishing, and ensure they wear a life jacket.

The 2012 National Coastal Safety Report produced by Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA) found that 84% of rock fishing related drownings were from Asian communities. And in a startling indicator of how poorly-prepared many rock fishers are, 75% of respondents recently interviewed admitted to never wearing a lifejacket when they fish.

Surf Life Saving has joined forces with fishing organisations to educate participants on safety. These include running Safe Fishing Workshops, installing multi-lingual rock fishing signage and releasing regular multi-lingual dangerous surf and rock fishing warnings. Additional ‘angel rings’ (life buoys) have also been installed at popular ocean rock fishing spots.

SLSA Public Safety Education Coordinator, Anthony Bradstreet, said the program would continue to target high-risk groups, particularly in culturally and linguistically diverse communities. “Surf Life Saving receives a small amount of federal funding to undertake these initiatives nationally, and they are conducted in partnership with various fishing groups” he said.

“Rock fishers need to ensure they fish in a safe manner and we are working with recreational fishing bodies to focus on and review educational interventions”, he said.

“We are entering what is statistically a very dangerous time for rock fishing and Sunday’s double drowning in Sydney harbor is a tragic start to the season”.

Surf Life Saving has also renewed a dangerous surf warning for the NSW coast for the remainder of the week. “We are appealing to the families of anglers, particularly in the Asian community, to ensure their loved ones are fishing safely, and never when there is a dangerous surf warning current. We have seen too many families affected over recent years, and the best prevention is to stay home when the conditions aren’t appropriate”, Mr. Bradstreet said.

“Our simple message to rock fishers is – always wear a lifejacket and don’t put your life on the line. Also, do not fish alone,” Mr Bradstreet concluded.

SLSA also cautions would-be rescuers with two cases over the past weekend involved people attempting rescues. “Ifyou witness someone falling into the water, do not jump in yourself,” said Mr Bradstreet. “Use a rope, angel ring or another flotation device and call emergency number.”

Mancing Karang / Rock Fishing

Mancing karangan atau di kalangan para pemancing sering sidebut Rock Fishing, adalah kegiatan mancing yang di lakukan di atas tebing atau karang di tepi laut. Tehnik ini sangat menarik untuk dilakukan, karena selain tujuan utama kita yaitu memancing, kita bisa sekaligus hiking dan camping karena lokasi mancing yang berada di tepi laut dan biasanya harus melewati rute perjalanan yang ekstrim.

Tehnik ini merupakan tehnik yang sangat menantang bagi para pemancing. Tetapi tehnik ini juga sangat berbahaya dan penuh dengan resiko. Dengan ketinggian, sudut tebing yang curam, dan tajamnya karang, membuat tehnik ini penuh dengan resiko. Tapi bagi para pencari kepuasan mancing, tantangan – tantangan itu dapat dilewati dengan kebulatan tekad untuk mendapatkan strike ikan.

Hal – hal yang perlu diperhatikan demi keselamatan pada saat rock fishing :

1. Pilihlah lokasi dimana disitu biasa para pemancing memancing ikan dan sertakan selalu poter atau navigator untuk pergi ke lokasi mancing karang. Biasanya poter merupakan penduduk didaerah sekitar lokasi mancing.
2. Selalu waspada dengan ombak. Ketika memancing diatas karang yang tidak terlalu tinggi, hendaknya jangan terlalu lama membelakangi laut, karena kita tidak akan tahu kapan ombak nesar akan datang dan menyapu kita.
3. Pakai pakaian yang ringan dan mudah dilepas ketika tiba – tiba terseret ombak.
4. Kenakan sepatu yang aman dan bersifat melindungi kaki. Sepatu ber – grip dan tingginya minimal diatas mata kaki wajib digunakan agar tidak mudah terpeleset ketika jalan diatas karang dan terlindung dari goresan batu karang yang tajam.
5. Terakhir dan tidak kalah penting yaitu, hormati laut dan alam sekitar. Jangan mengambil resiko yang tidak perlu karena dalam berinteraksi dengan alam, kita sepatutnya take and give.

Negara tertentu memancing wajib harus mempunyai SIM (Surat Ijin Memancing) .Kenapa ? Karena dengan cara begitulah mereka menjaga kelestarian dan

keindahan alamnya. Repot juga ya kalau kita lagi di Negara tetangga tertentu, ingin

menyalurkan hobi dan ingin refreshing dengan kegiatan memancing. Tapi kalau kita

nekat tanpa mempunyai SIM bisa didenda + 600 Juta Rupiah...(Bisa gulung tikar mendadak)

Bandingkan dengan Indonesia. Kalau di Indonesia kita bisa memancing semau kita, seenak kita, kapanpun dan dimanapun. (Asal gak di empang Bang Juri) Kenapa ? Karena memang Indonesia tidak memiliki peraturan seperti yang ada di sono. Tetapi yang kita lakukan yaitu asal pancing.Kita tidak tahu ilmunya jadi kita tidak bisa memancing dengan cara yang benar. Ya kalau alat pancing yang digunakan tidak berbahaya, tapi kalau berbahaya sepertin"Bom Ikan", "Pukat Harimau" dll. apa

jadinya ? Alat-alat seperti itu sangat berbahaya, bagi ekosistem laut khususnya dan bagi manusia umumnya. Zat-zat beracun pada bom dan pukat harimau tersebut sangat berdampak buruk bagi kehidupan alam laut. Wah…bukannya menjaga kelestarian alam laut, tetapi malahmerusaknya…hmmm…memprihatinkan.
